My view has become that certain critical characteristics cannot be cultivated by academic approach. A drive toward authenticity and self-growth must be present in any individual attempting to grow into the wisdom and intuitive senses needed to be of true help to others. It seems so much effort is put into training "helping" professionals in various theories and specific schools of technique, the assumption being that the relationship building and maintenance aspect is a given... when it is over eighty percent of why any success is acheived. I am not so sure people come into these fields of practice with good implementatable skills in initiating, building and maintanining authentic relationships.Bob Vancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03452162877705588334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6980924408891647412.post-74375652454558514982011-01-10T11:46:21.825-05:002011-01-10T11:46:21.825-05:00What a thought-provoking, original view of the cre...What a thought-provoking, original view of the creative process of working and being authentic with clients. I never really thought of it that way and find your questions and perspective intriguing and ones I would like to dwell on for a bit. Very helpful and insightful.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
